Lindy Hop Social Improvers – Thursdays at 20:00 / 2026-07-30 / Week 31

Lindy Hop Social Improver Class — Week 31

Join us this Thursday evening for our Social Improver class (Level 1) at Sugar Hill Hop. This session is designed for dancers who’ve got the basics down and are ready to expand their vocabulary, sharpen their musicality, and build confidence on the social dance floor.

Each week builds on the last — but every class is also designed to stand on its own, so don’t worry if you’ve missed a session. We rotate partners throughout, so no partner is needed. Just bring comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and your enthusiasm.

Class Details

  • Date: Thursday 2026-07-30 (Week 31 of the year)
  • Time: 20:00 – 20:50
  • Price: £ 15.00 per class
  • Location: 1 Sheffield Street, London, WC2A 2AP, United Kingdom
  • Level: Social Improvers (Level 1)
  • No partner needed — we rotate throughout the class

What to Expect

Our Social Improver classes focus on developing the skills that make Lindy Hop feel effortless on the social floor. You’ll work on lead-follow connection, swing-outs and variations, musicality and rhythmic interpretation, and the kind of relaxed confidence that comes from truly understanding the dance rather than just memorising steps.

We teach with a deep respect for the African American origins of Lindy Hop. Understanding where the dance comes from enriches how you move and connect with the music — and with your partner.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable, flat-soled shoes (leather or suede soles are ideal — avoid trainers with heavy grip)
  • A water bottle
  • Layers — you’ll warm up quickly
  • A positive attitude and willingness to rotate partners

After Class

After every session, we share learning review videos so you can revisit, recap, and refine what we’ve covered. These are shared within our group — details on how to join are available in class. You can also ask questions about technique, the music, and the history behind the movements.
